Early Decision

If you have visited Alfred University and discovered the wonderful opportunities that await you, you should consider applying under our Early Decision plan. The goal of our Early Decision program is to reserve positions in the freshman class for candidates who have decided that AU is their first choice college. In return, if you apply under this plan and are offered admission, you must commit to enroll at AU.

As part of your early decision application process, you must submit a statement of obligation in which you commit to accepting the offer of admission if it is extended. The first choice early decision plan allows you to initiate other applications, however, upon notification of admission to AU, you must withdraw all other college applications. The Early Decision contract can be found here>>>

Early decision candidates must complete their applications by December 1 . You will be notified of an admission decision by mid-December, and, if admitted, you must withdraw applications to other colleges and submit a non-refundable deposit of $300 by January 15. Applications of those not admitted as part of the early decision plan will be deferred and reviewed again under the regular admission program; candidates will be notified of a final admission decision by mid-March. Not being admitted through the early decision plan does not harm your chances of being admitted through the regular review.
