Alfred University (AU) is a private, nonsectarian university of about 2,000 undergraduate and 300 graduate students. Alfred is home to the Inamori School of Engineering, School of Art and Design, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, College of Professional Studies, and School of Business. AU is located between the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains and the picturesque Finger Lakes in Western New York State.

We are a Common Application exclusive school that accepts documents via the mail or automatic upload through Common Application.

Campus Visits

Our general Campus Tours are offered Monday - Friday at 9:15 AM; 11:15 AM; 1:15 PM; and 3:15 PM; and on select Saturdays at 10:15 and 11:30 AM during the academic year. The tour takes approximately an hour and 15 minutes, and is a combination walking/van tour so we can really show you what life is like at AU. During the summer, we offer tours Monday - Friday at 10 AM and 2 PM.

We offer specialized tours for our art and engineering facilities. These tours are both offered Monday - Friday at 11:15 AM and 3:15 PM; and at 11:30 AM on select Saturdays during the academic year; and at 11:30 AM during the summer.
