Returning Student Newsletter — Review Content

Dear faculty and staff,

The returning student newsletter is online, though it has not yet been advertised widely to students. I am happy to add announcements if your department or division would like to include something later in the summer.

Exploring Transportation Options: An Up-date

We recognize the rising cost of gasoline is an increasing burden for most of our employees, and we are exploring ways in which we can help people save money on their commuting costs.

1. We are discussing with the Hornell Area Transit (HAT) bus operators ways in which they can adjust their schedules to mesh better with the work hours at the University. The current schedule is available on-line: http://www.hatrides.com/a...

2. We are working with Allegany County Transit on the possibility of more direct bus routes from other Allegany County communities to Alfred and back on schedules that will accommodate our employees. Thanks to all of you who completed the survey.

3. We have a ride board, and we recommend people use it to set up car pools to reduce commuting costs. Check out http://my.alfred.edu/inde... to see if you can share a ride to and from Alfred.

4. If you need minor schedule accommodations in order to be able to use public transportation or carpooling, please ask your supervisor. He or she may be able to accommodate your needs.

5. We would like to remind those who wish to bicycle to and from campus that they can use facilities in the McLane Center to shower and change clothes.
