Dorothy and Barry met at Alfred University. They were introduced to each other by Dottie's sister, Loretta Rush-Becker '80. Barry was Loretta's RA (Resident Assistant) in Tredenick Hall / Pine Hill Suites). Dottie had already accepted an AU Presidential transfer scholarship to study Elementary Education. Barry also received an AU transfer scholarship in 1976 and was a Business School student.

Attending the June, 1981 wedding were Holly Manning Bernhard '79, Debbie Hogan Jaquith '78, Phil Tschorke AU '79, Steve Pulos '75, Loretta Rush Becker '80, Dr. Ernest Bodenstab (Dottie's AU Education professor and head of AU's Education Dept.)

They have four children and currently live in Rochester, NY and Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts. They have many wonderful memories of their AU days and enjoy visiting the campus.
