Letter to the Golden Saxons:

February 13, 2013

Greetings!

We are eagerly anticipating when we will gather for Reunion 2013, June 7-9.  The Golden Saxons have been returning to Alfred for Reunion in record numbers.  We hope you will join us this year!

June will be here before you know it!  As you mark your calendar, make your plans, and contact classmates, here are some important reminders for Reunion:

  • Golden Saxons receive a 50% discount on their Reunion registration.
  • New features for Reunion 2013 include:
    • The Seven Wonders of Alfred tour on Friday and Saturday
    • The Craft Show on Friday as well as Saturday
    • International music sung by AU faculty on Friday and Saturday evenings
    • International Coffee and Dessert on Saturday in newly renovated Ade Hall
  • Reunion coordinators Roger Eiss ’58 and Dave Perry ’61 will be joined by a group of alumni cyclists in a week-long bike trek from Albany to Alfred beginning June 2.  Destinations along the way include Amsterdam, Utica, Weedsport, Penn Yan and Hornell before arriving in Alfred on Friday, June 7th for Reunion!  If you would like to join the group riding or for a celebratory meal along the way, contact Roger by email or (360) 607-7714 for itinerary and trip details.
  • For Reunion questions and information or for help in locating classmates you would like to be in touch with, visit the website www.alfred.edu/alumni/reunion, contact the Alumni Office by email or (607) 871-2144, or reach out to our Reunion liaison, Anne Cornell by email or (800) 321-1309.

Many of us returned to find Alfred dramatically changed and an exciting and vibrant University, especially those who have not been back in some time.  Whether you have returned often of will be making your first visit as a Golden Saxon, we hope to see you this June for our 10th anniversary!

Sincerely, your Reunion 2013 coordinators,

Phil Baker ’58        Donald Boulton ’52        Bill Dick ’58        Roger Eiss ’58         David Perry ’61
