2007: Was named an honorable mention All-American after placing 14th in the 100-yard backstroke at the NCAA Division III championships…Also competed in the 200-yard backstroke (19th) and 50-yard freestyle (43rd) at national…Was named Swimmer of the Year by the Empire 8 Conference after winning conference titles in the 100-yard and 200-yard backstroke and 500-yard freestyle…Placed second in the 100-yard backstroke and third in the 200-yard backstroke and 500-yard freestyle at the state meet….Swam on the 400-yard medley and 800-yard freestyle relay teams that won state titles…Had 15 dual-meet wins and swam on 11 dual-meet winning relay teams.

2006: Was second in the 100-yard backstroke at the state meet and won an Empire 8 Conference crown in the same event…Placed seventh in the 500-yard freestyle and 200-yard backstroke at the state meet...Swam on the 200-yard freestyle, 400-yard medley and 200-yard medley relay teams that were second at the state meet and won Empire 8 titles... Helped set new school records in the 400-yard and 200-yard medley relays at the state meet (1:34.51 and 3:28.67, respectively)…The team’s second-highest scorer in dual meets, he had 16 top-three finishes (10 wins) in individual dual-meet races and swam on teams that won 10 dual-meet relays.

Personal: The son of James and Marcia Baker, Matt is a chemistry major…Twin brother Mark is also a member of the AU swimming and diving team.
