Kathleen Dyring, a 2002 Alfred
University graduate, is in her first year as head coach
of women’s volleyball at her alma mater.
Dyring was a four-year letterwinning defensive specialist for the Lady Saxons,
from 1998-2001. She was a member of the 1999 team that earned Alfred’s
first and only trip to the NCAA Division III tournament. In four seasons, Dyring
accumulated 1,281 digs and 156 service aces. She was a team captain as a
senior in 2001.
A native of Tonawanda, NY, Dyring earned a bachelor’s degree in athletic
training from AU in 2002 and an associate’s degree in nursing from Alfred
State College in the spring of 2004.
Before taking the head coaching job at AU, Dyring coached at junior varsity
and varsity volleyball camps at Mount St. Mary Academy in Kenmore (1998 and
1999) and at the varsity and junior varsity camps at Wayland-Cohocton High
School. |
