Scott Cooper was appointed head coach of men's and women's tennis at Alfred University prior to the 2007-08 season.
In this, his first season as women's coach, he guided the Lady Saxons to an 8-3 record (5-3 Empire 8) and a berth in the New York State championship tournament. Three members of the team were named Empire 8 Conference all-stars.
Cooper, who also serves as assistant coach for the AU men's basketball team, takes over for former coach Brooke Harris. He earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Allegheny College in Meadville, PA, in 2002 before being appointed graduate assistant coach for the men's basketball team at AU prior to the 2002-03 season. He served two years as a graduate assistant, earning a master's degree in secondary education in 2004 before being appointed assistant men's basketball coach Alfred prior to the 2004-05 season.
