What About Civic Engagement?

The Institute for Cultural Unity is hosting Dr. Karen Porter for our "What About Wednesdays?" Discussion Series. The Topic will be "What about Civic Engagement?" Everyone is invited to attend the conversation over some lunch

Helen Hale Public Lecture

- Location: Holmes Auditorium
(5:00 PM - 6:30 PM)
Multi-media artist and dancer Helen Hale is the creative force behind “Sanity Ceremonies,” a one-act, one-woman performance. She has been remarkably hands-on with every aspect of this artwork, including the writing, the props, the costuming, the lighting, the video, the sound, and the motion graphics.

Don’t miss Helen's public lecture on Wednesday, March 22nd at 5pm in Holmes Auditorium. The lecture, entitled “Keeping the Fire Lit," will reveal surprising twists and turns in her life as a performer and dance maker, the role of ritual in her personal practice, and her thoughts on creating art as a form of resistance and activism.

Yoga Class

- Location: Multipurpose Room, McLane Annex
(5:15 PM - 6:45 PM)
Hatha yoga classes taught by a Kripalu-certified yoga instructor. All levels welcome. Mondays and Wednesday 5:15-6:45 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room, McLane annex (2nd floor).

It's time for the Newman Club Spring Semester retreat - a great chance to spend a weekend away from Alfred, a time to get rejuvenated for the rest of the semester and reflect in the tranquil environment at Christ the King Seminary.

Retreat Dates: Friday, March 24 - Sunday, March 26

Retreat Cost: $15
