9/7 W. Tennis HOME vs. Penn St-Behrend - 4pm

A Cause for Four Paws

The Hornell Humane Society will be visiting Alfred University’s campus on Sept. 7 between 4-7 p.m. The humane society takes in unwanted animals and provides medical treatment with the help of generous donations from the public. On 9/7 we are asking the Alfred community to bring an item needed by the shelter to Reimer Hall. Animals available for adoption will be present! (In case of inclement weather, the event will be in Reimer’s Lounge)
Auditions for February Dance Concert

Auditions for the dances to be featured in the February dance concert will be held Tuesday, Sept. 11, at 5:45 in Miller 300 (dance studio). The dances are being choreographed by D. Chase Angier, Rose Beauchamp (dance adjunct), students Nate Abel and Brian Pierce, and guest artist Brian Brooks.
All levels of experience welcome!

Josef Schützenhöfer, Works on Paper - Gallery Talk

Josef Schützenhöfer is visiting Alfred University for the second time as the Theodore Randall International Chair in the Division of Drawing, Painting and Photography. His solo exhibition at The Cohen Gallery will run from Friday, Sept. 7 through Friday, Oct. 12.
He will be giving a gallery talk at 6 p.m. on Sept. 7 during the opening reception, 5:30-7 p.m.
The show features three bodies of work on paper of politically charged work addressing liberation and indignant police authority in Austria.

Reading Through Beuys - Open Reception

Presenting a collection of books, posters, videos, postcards, interviews, and mass-media images by or about Joseph Beuys. Also included are contemporary works produced in response to Beuys works by Shannah Burton, Eberhard Kranemann, Emil Schult, David Sylvian, Caroline Tisdall, Stephen Vitiello and John Zorn.
FILM: ’Snow White and the Huntsman’

In a twist to the fairy tale, the Huntsman ordered to take Snow White into the woods to be killed winds up becoming her protector and mentor in a quest to vanquish the Evil Queen.

Standup comic Sean Patton’s looks, voice, and wild energy have drawn comparisons to a young Jim Belushi, but this rising comedians style is all his own! He was featured as one of the "New Faces" at the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon," and Comedy Central’s "Live at Gotham."
