Please attend a free public talk and artist presentation by the visiting artist group Luftwerk. Luftwerk is the collaborative vision of Petra Bachmaier and Sean Gallero. .

New media installations merge video and light with material, surface, and structure, shaping content into an immersive sculptural experience. Their work illuminates the realm of special events, live performance, gallery and public venue, in locations as diverse as MASS MoCA, JFK Airport, Emirates Palace, Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater and Robie House.

Men’s Tennis will play Elmira College at home. Play begins at 4pm.

Burning Bad Writing

- Location: Writing Center (Seidlin 003) and the Honors House
(5:30 PM - 10:30 PM)
Part 1: The Bad Writing Contest
When: Wednesday, April 17, 5:30-6:30 P.M.
Where: The Writing Center (Seidlin 003 - Basement)
What: Bring the worst sentence/paragraph you can write or find one published. Compete for prizes! Judges will select the Best (or worst). Free pizza!

Part 2: The Bonfire and the Burning
When: Wednesday, April 17th, 9-10:30 P.M.
Where: The Honors House (8 Park St.)
What: Bring your winning or losing entries from the bad writing contest, or your own papers and exams from the semester, and chuck them into the bonfire!

Prizes from the contest will be awarded! Free snacks!

Zombie Apocalypse Marathon Pre-Registration

Do you have what it takes to survive the zombie apocalypse? This is your chance to put your skills to the test and find out! Envision running for your life through zombie infested trails and facing unforeseen obstacles. Only few can outlast the zombie infection and reach safety. The real question is: Are YOU a survivor?

Pre-registration ($10) will be open through April 19 on the My Alfred webpage. Registration will also be available at the event ($15) from 1-1:45 p.m. Funds raised will be donated to a charity of the Winner’s choice.

Day of Silence

The National Day of Silence is a day of action in which students across the country vow to take a form of silence to call attention to the silencing effect of anti-LGBT bullying and harassment in schools.

Day of Silence is on Friday but because Spectrum meets on Wednesday we are going to do it that day. During the meeting we will all speak up, have some pizza and tell each other what it was like being silent as well how it reflects LGBT individuals who are forced to be silent every day of their lives.

Some information:
Have an index card stating what you’re doing and why you’re doing it. This way, people understand why you’re being silent. As for classrooms, you can present your index card to your professors and hopefully they will be respectful.

Business on Par

- Location: Twin Hickory Golf Course

AMA presents "Business on Par" - come join our golf tournament Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 9 a.m. at Twin Hickory. The tournament will be grouped in teams of 4, and it will be in Captain and Crew style so make sure you have a group when you sign up! We are bringing back old AU Business traditions and would like to see ALL of you there!

The tickets will be $30 per person including: Golf cart rental and food. Please bring your own clubs if you have them!

Tickets will be sold in Olin, Ade, Mclane, and Powell! Please bring your AU ID card when you sign up. Here are the following times you can purchase a ticket:

Tuesday, April 16: Open to just Business Seniors & MBA Students sign up at Dr. Rummel’s door (Olin 407)!

Wednesday, April 17: The rest of the business school can purchase tickets in Olin from: 11-11:30 a.m., 12:30-1:10 p.m., and 2:10-2:45 p.m.

Thursday & Friday: OPEN TO ALL MAJORS!
Olin from: 11-11:30 a.m., 12:30-1:10 p.m., and 2:10-2:45 p.m.
Ade: 11 a.m.-1 p.m., 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Powell: 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
Mclane (Just Friday): 4-6 p.m.
