Dr. Likin Simon-Romero’s Sample Calc Class Talk

Dr. Likin Simon-Romero will be giving a Sample Calculus Class Talk at 9:20 a.m. on Wednesday April 9 in Olin Hall Rm. 207. Join us for this talk!

Dr. Romero will also be giving a Research Talk at 12:20 p.m. on Wednesday April 9 in Myer’s Rm. 334

Walk-in Hours at the CDC

- Location: The Steinheim, Career Development Center
(10:00 AM - 4:00 PM)
Alfred University’s Career Development Center has extended walk-in hours for the 2013-14 academic year -Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

You can drop in with any career-related question and see the next available counselor for 20 to 30 minutes, depending on availability.

Middle States Evaluation Team Preliminary Report

Math Talk: "Topology and the Essential Shape of the Universe"

Dr. Likin Simon-Romero will be giving a research talk at 12:20 p.m. on Wednesday April 9 in Myer’s Hall Rm. 334.

"TOPOLOGY AND THE ESSENTIAL SHAPE OF THE UNIVERSE"
In this talk, an intuitive idea of what Topology studies is presented. The concept of dimension will be introduced as well as the constructions of different objects like the Mobius Strip and the Klein Bottle. The talk will address how Topology can be used to determine to figure out how is the space of our universe.

The talk is intended for a general audience. No previous knowledge is required is to understand it.
