Women, Yoga, and the Body workshop

Women, Yoga, and the Body workshop with Loretta Pyles Saturday April 19, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in Miller 300 Using a pedagogy of embodied learning, this workshop takes a transformational approach to un-learning oppression and suffering in women’s bodies, minds and spirits.

Drawing from yoga and feminist philosophy, participants engage in breath work, physical postures, meditation, chanting and group exercises, offering pathways for transformation and healing.

This event is free and open to all students, and is open to faculty and community members for a fee of $10 each. Registration is required, as the event is limited to 30 participants.

Please email by Thursday, April 17 to reserve your spot, and please include whether you have a mat, block, blanket, and/or strap.

The workshop is co-sponsored by the AU Yoga Club and the Women’s and Gender Studies program with support from the Women’s Leadership Center.

Dramatists Presents: Fairytales Live!

Alfredian Dramatists presents its very first fairytale event! Come watch some of your favorite fairytales come to life!

This Saturday at the Alfred Village Town Hall! There will be Arts and Crafts from 1-2 p.m. for children, and the performance begins at 2 p.m.

Prices for admission for both the Arts and Crafts and Performance is $5 for adults, and children are free!

AU/AState student price for just the performance is $1.

All proceeds from the event go towards the Alfred Montessori School’s New Playground!

Sponsored by the Judson Leadership Center’s Gary Horowitz Leadership Development Program.
