APO Plant Seedling Sale

- Location: Powell Campus Center
(12:00 PM - 1:30 PM)

To celebrate Arbor Day, Alpha Phi Omega is selling plant seedlings. These can be purchased on the second floor of Powell from 12-1:30 p.m. today, April 25. Selections include marigolds, sunflowers, bachelor buttons, morning glories, Shasta daisies, lavender, echinacea, and spearmint.

All proceeds will go to funding local community service projects so please stop by and purchase a seedling today.

Honors Convocation

- Location: McLane Center
(4:00 PM - 5:30 PM)
This is an opportunity for the Alfred University community to honor our "best and brightest" students. We also take this occasion to honor and acknowledge several distinguished faculty and staff.

A reception in the McLane Center Lobby area will follow the Convocation.

Hot Dog Day Ice Cream Bash- Friday 4/25

- Location: Alfred Fire Hall (on Main Street)

The annual Hot Dog Day Ice Cream Bash will be on Friday, April 25 in Alfred Fire Hall.

The event starts at 6 p.m.

Performances by: Middle Eastern Dancers and a balloon artist

Face painting, arts and crafts, and of course ice cream!

Adults- $3
Children- $2

Gathering of Carol ’CB’ Burdick’s Family and Friends

There will be a gathering of the family and friends of Carol "CB" Burdick, on Friday, April 25, at 6:30 p.m. in Susan Howell Hall.

CB died at her Pondhouse home in Alfred Station on April 12, 2008.

PBL March of Dimes Benefit Concert!

- Location: AU's Bandstand, Main Street

PBL is holding its third annual March of Dimes Benefit Concert. Come enjoy free hot dogs, music by The Vintage Truth, and donate to the March of Dimes to help save premature babies.

'National Treasure: Book of Secrets'

- Location: Nevins
(8:00 PM - 1:00 AM)
Benjamin Franklin Gates and Dr. Abigail Chase -- who found riches and romance at the end of their first hunt for national treasure -- reteam with their wisecracking partner in crime, Riley Poole, for another romp through U.S. history. Now, armed with a stack of long-lost pages from John Wilkes Booth’s diary, Ben is obsessed with finding the truth behind President Abraham Lincoln’s assassination.

Comedy Trifecta Night

- Location: Knight Club, Powell Campus Center

Three great laugh-including treats. First a student improv show in the Knight Club leads into a visiting comedian. Conclude the nights with FNL’s 15th anniversary show in Holmes Auditorium.

Juried Art Union Show

- Location: Gallery 17 Main st.

Art Union is having a juried art competition this semester at Gallery 17 on Main Street (the old video store). All submissions will have been chosen anonymously by seven Alfred University faculty members. There will be prizes!

Friday, April 25 we will be having a reception at the gallery 6-8 p.m. where we will have food and refreshments and the prizes will be announced!

Please view the online prospectus form to submit (open to all grad and undergraduate students at both Alfred University and Alfred State College). Submission deadline is Thursday April 10.
