Pet Pals are Asking You for Urgent Help

Pet Pals has received a letter from the Abbe-Freeland Wildlife Sanctuary which is located in Angelica, NY. The sanctuary is in urgent need of financial donations to support medical expenses and housing costs of local wildlife, particularly beaver rehabilitation.

The little yearling beavers are coming in and they now have 25 beavers, injured and orphaned, to care for in addition to about 100 other animals that people have abandoned at the sanctuary.

This is the ONLY center in New York State able to take beavers so they do not feel they can turn them away. They desperately need financial help to be able to keep their doors open.

In the past, Pet Pals has raised over $300 for this very worthy organization and we would like to help again. We are asking if anyone has any change or bills that they are willing to give, we will see that it all gets donated to the sanctuary. There will be a collection box in the Center for Student Involvement Office in the Powell Campus Center until Friday, May 9.

SOE Faculty Candidate - Dr. Nathan Mellott

- Location: Binns-Merrill Hall 106

Dr. Mellott, Principal Scientist, from Guardian Industries, Carleton, MI, is delivering the SOE Graduate Seminar on Thursday, May 1, 2008. His talk is entitled "Glass Surface Structure and Durability: Fundamentals and Applications". Please see attached for his abstract.
