- Link: Learn more about Ryan Sallans from his website
For National Transgender Awareness Week (Nov. 18-22), we are hosting Ryan Sallans, a fantastic speaker, author, and transgender activist, in Alfred.
Bringing him to NY is a collaborative effort across several departments and organizations within Alfred University and Alfred State College, and we’re inviting students, faculty, staff, and community members from far and near to come see him speak.
There are two presentations, one during the day when he’ll be speaking to classes with plenty of seating still available (1:20-3:10 P.M. on the AU campus, Science Center, room 421) and one in the evening in the Alfred Village Hall (7-9 P.M., 7 W. University St.), on Tuesday, Nov. 19.
There is no charge for admission and there will be a book signing after the evening presentation. If you are interested in coming, please do and bring a friend!

Human Vs. Zombies @ AU

- Attachment 1: Rules for HvZ at Alfred
Humans vs. Zombies is a game of tag. All players begin as humans, and one is randomly chosen to be the "Original Zombie." The Original Zombie tags human players and turns them into zombies. Zombies must tag and eat a human every 72 hours or they starve to death and are out of the game.
Game information can be found at http://www.hvzsource.com/...
AU’s game timeline:
Start: Friday, Nov. 8 @ 12:01 A.M.
End: Monday, Nov. 25 @ 6 P.M.
All players must follow these rules or be banned from participating in the game:
Rules created for the safety of all players are strictly enforced. Violation of safety rules will result in a ban from the game.
1. No realistic looking weaponry. Blasters/Nerf guns are prohibited. Only socks will be used to stun zombies.
2. Players may not use cars or play where there is traffic.
3. No head shots allowed. Do not throw socks at the zombie’s head. Hits to the head don’t count as a stun.
Some areas on campus are "no play zones," where the game is permanently suspended. These areas include:
• All academic and non-academic buildings
• Dorm rooms
• Dining Halls
Both players must have both feet outside of the no play zones in order to tag/stun.
Players of the game will be identified by a purple or gold bandana tied to an arm, leg or around their head.
Players can sign up at: http://www.hvzsource.com/...
To report concerns or game violation:
Contact person: Daniel Gonzalez
Reports can also be sent to Craig Arno at firstname.lastname@example.org
