Candy Cane Grams Sale

- Location: Powell Campus Center, 3rd floor

Psych Club will be selling Candy Cane Grams for .50 cents each and 5 for $2. The sale will take place in Powell starting Tuesday, 11/29 until Wednesday, 12/7 from 12:00-1:00 PM. Please contact psychclub@alfred.edu with any questions!

Bergren Forum

The Bergren Forum sponsored by the Division of Human Studies, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the Provost’s Office will be meeting on Thursday December 1st at 12:10 PM in the Nevins Theatre, Powell Campus Center.

Forum Follows Function at ACAM

- Location: Alfred Ceramic Art Museum

Join the Art History Club for a discussion of functional ceramics on view at the Alfred Ceramic Art Museum with Division Chair and Professor of Ceramics Linda Sikora and Theodore Randall International Chair in Art and Design Takeshi Yasuda. Grant Akiyama and Max Mustardo, BS in Art History and Theory candidates, will moderate the discussion, that will address questions such as: How do studio pottery, industrial design, and fine art address notions of function? What is the relationship between function, art, and craft? What are the effects on performance resulting from mechanical and handmade processes? How do design elements in ceramics reflect cultural contexts?

December Informal Dance Showing

- Location: CD Smith III Theatre, Miller Perf Arts Center

Informal Dance Showing includes AU Dance Program’s faculty and student creative work and compositions from independent choreographers. Limited seating.

December Informal Dance Showing

- Location: CD Smith Theater
(7:00 PM - 8:00 PM)
Come see what we have been working on in the dance department this semester! Two nights of performances and choreography. Each night of the informal dance showing will be a different program.

There will be solos created by the Composition 1 students, and dances performed by classes including Fundamentals of Dance, Jazz Dance, and New and Existing Repertory. The repertory class will perform a work created by American Master Choreographer Pearl Primus and a piece by AU Dance Faculty Colleen Culley. Angier and Culley will continue their duet exploration through a very short performance.

Its free, its fun, and its inspiring!

Alfred Ceramic Art Museum: Core Sample
Opens October 28, 2016
Gala Opening Reception: Friday, October 28, 6-9PM



In celebration of the Alfred Ceramic Art Museum’s move to its magnificent new facility, the Museum will open its doors on October 28, 2016, with an exhibition entitled Core Sample. This exhibition will feature highlights from the permanent collection. A number of these works have not been on view in years. Core Sample is the first of many ambitious projects slated for the museum, which will reveal essential aspects of the Museum’s collection as well as chart new directions in ceramic art and scholarship.
