Bergren Forum - Xingwu Wang

The Bergren Forum sponsored by the Division of Human Studies, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the Provost's Office will be meeting at 12:10 PM on Thursday March 16h in the Nevins Theatre, Powell Campus Center.

Bring a brown bag lunch, coffee and tea will be available.

Speaker: Xingwu Wang
Topic: "Sustainability Projects: Collaboration between Engineering an other disciplines across the AU Campus"

Prof. of Electrical Engineering Xingwu Wang will describe several collaborative projects: from Solar Decathlon houses to tiny houses; from solar farms to solar retail markets; from a renewable energy task to a sustainability research task.

Writing Center Workshop: Using Other People's Words and Ideas Legally

- Location: Herrick Library Seminar Room

Cassidy Weese will provide an overview of how to incorporate others' ideas into your own writing through the use of quotation, paraphrase and summary. How do you paraphrase without plagiarizing? How can you use quotes from other authors to enhance your own writing? When do you have to cite your source in the body of your paper? How do you cite correctly? These are some of the questions that will be discussed in this workshop. You will have an opportunity to ask questions and practice. You'll also be able to take away some useful handouts. All this and free pizza! RSVP so we know how much pizza to order.
