Come to the Alfred Farmers Market each Sunday from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. to get some fresh, local goods! The market has a wide selection of farmers that sell honey, fruit, candles, cupcakes, meat, vegetables, and much more. Have a conversation with your farmer, appreciate live music, seasonal recipes, free educational demonstrations on gardening and nutrition, and enjoy getting to know your local community.

"Take the Leading Role!" Performing Arts & Leadership Conference

Come join WLA graduate Elisabeth Estep and the JLC for a day of learning, leading, and free food at the Take the Leading Role Performing Arts & Leadership Conference!
What is it?
A day devoted to learning about how skills commonly used in the performing arts (dance, theater, and music) can be utilized to further hone your leadership skills and advance your future career path--even if that career path is not in the performing arts! The conference will consist of three main parts: attendees will participate in three workshop sessions in the disciplines listed above and learn how these disciplines can be used to further develop leadership skills; they will sit in on a panel discussion of individuals who will speak to how they utilize performing arts skills in their current, non-performing arts careers; and attendees will receive a free catered dinner with additional networking opportunities. Workshop leaders and panel members will include AU faculty/staff, AU alumni, and other performing artists from across the country.
What kind of workshops will be offered?
Workshops will include:
-Using Theater Techniques for Public Speaking
-Leadership Personality Typing & Dance
-The Psychology of Music & How to Take Advantage of Its Benefits
-Improving Leadership with Improv
