Art Auction

- Location: Robert C. Turner Gallery

The Robert C Turner gallery will be holding an auction of donated student and faculty work from the school of art and design. Bidding will open on Monday, Oct.r 22 at 11 A.M. until 4 P.M. every day through Friday, Oct. 26. A closing reception will follow on the 26th at 7 p.m.

Saxon Ski & Snowboard Meeting for the Big Trip!

- Location: Roon Lecture Hall (Science Center)

Do you like to ski or snowboard? Are you interested in going to Canada for the first part of winter break?

The club will be going to Mt. Tremblant this year from Dec. 15 to the 20th. Please come to the meeting we are having if you are at all interested. We got a really good deal on housing and lift tickets!

Artist Presentation by Cynthia Handel

Cynthia Handel is a well-respected Californian sculptor investigating the object and performance over the past 16 years. Her work combines fabricated steel, cast bronze and iron elements with silk, steel, wood, beewax and fire.

She has presented on numerous panels for the International Cast Iron Art Conferences as well as at the College Art Association and the International Sculpture Conferences. She has participated as an artist in residence at the USUK Iron Symposium, Berllanderi Sculpture Workshop in Wales, Franconia Sculpture Park, Wyoming and Montana.

She resides in Oakland, Ca where she teaches at the Crucible, and has a recently set up a rural studio in Montana.
