Bill Rezak Book Signing

On Thursday, Feb. 28 Alfred State’s 9th President returns to Alfred to sign copies of his new book. Bill Rezak has written "The Arab and the Brit; The Last of the Welcome Immigrants."
Rezak "narrates his ancestors’ experiences against the backdrop of two world wars and an emerging modern Middle East."
Rezak will be signing his book on the second floor of the Powell Campus Center outside of the Alfred University Bookstore from 10:30 A.M. - 12:15 P.M. Be sure to stop by and get your copy.
Weight Watchers Class

Bergren Forum - Calculus Initiative

The Bergren Forum sponsored by the Division of Human Studies and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences will be meeting at 12:10 P.M. on Thursday, Feb. 28 in the Nevins Theater, Powell Campus Center.
Bring a brown bag lunch; coffee and tea will be provided.
Speaker: Joseph Petrillo
Topic: " The Alfred University Calculus Initiative"
The Alfred University Calculus Initiative (AUCI) is a multi-faceted project that combines a new and distinctive first-semester calculus curriculum with classroom transformation, video lessons, online homework, and web-bases implementation.
Professor of Mathematics, Joseph Petrillo, will discuss the components of the AUCI from a pedagogical perspective and in context of the millennial generation. Teachers in other disciplines may be inspired to try similar methods in their own courses.
This project is funded by the National Science Foundation.

Visit the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site at Alfred University and have your tax return prepared and filed for free by an IRS-certified volunteer preparer.
To set up an appointment, simply dial " 2 1 1" on your telephone. (Dialing 211 will connect you with a United Way representative who will make your appointment.)
