Mark grew up an hour west of Alfred in Bradford, PA. He received his B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown and a Master of Professional Studies in Community Service Administration from Alfred University. Prior to joining Alfred University in 2001, he worked for the Allegany County Department of Social Services. He lives in Alfred Station with his wife, Laurie and son, Sawyer, on 85 acres crisscrossed with trails and covered with maple trees for making syrup. Mark is an avid outdoorsman who loves hiking in the Adirondacks, downhill and cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and cycling. While Mark is always busy he says: "Working with a professional, dedicated staff and talented students who turn into amazing alums, makes my job so enjoyable that I have trouble knowing when to stop."

Jill joined the CDC team in July, 2007. She was raised in Alfred and grew up helping in her parents' businesses - the Collegiate (known to many as the Jet) and the Terra Cotta Coffee House. Jill has a Master of Science in Student Personnel Administration from Buffalo State College and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from SUNY Brockport. When not in the office she enjoys spending time with her husband, Bryan and son, Tyler. She says: "I love working at Alfred University: it has such a great community of people. The CDC is such a wonderful place to work; I get to tell people that I work in a castle!"

Kevin was born and raised not far from Alfred, in Hornell, NY. He graduated from Alfred University in 1989 with a B.F.A and a concentration in printmaking. Prior to joining the CDC team in August, 2005 he worked as an interior store designer for Polo Ralph Lauren in NYC and owned his own interior design business in Venice, CA. Kevin lives in a charming vintage cottage in Hornell and spends his leisure time cooking, antiquing, and watching films. He says: " I love working with art students because of how individual their aspirations are."

A magna cum laude graduate of Alfred University, Nancy earned her B. A. in Communications Studies in 2004. She also holds an A.A.S. from Alfred State College in Medical Records Technology. She joined the CDC staff in June, 1999 as the Recruiting Coordinator/Career Advisor. Prior to that she spent several years working in medical offices throughout the Southern Tier. Nancy lives in Wellsville, NY and is the proud mother of five daughters, two of whom graduated from Alfred University and one who is currently enrolled. Outside of work Nancy stays busy volunteering for Alfred University events such as Project Alfred, Hot Dog Day, and the Alfies. She says: "The students, hands down, make this the best place to work. The quality of talent in our students make my job easy in working with potential employers."

Jessica grew up in nearby Angelica, NY, where she currently resides. She received her B.A. from Houghton College where she studied Psychology and Art. Jessica became the Allegany County Youth Court Director in 2008, and joined the CDC team as the Service Learning Coordinator in February, 2011 when the Youth Court and Service Learning Programs merged. Outside of work, she enjoys the outdoors, photography, hand-crafting greeting cards, sports, and spending time with family and friends. She says: “I always wanted to work with people (though I didn’t know what age group) and be involved in my local community. My position here allows me to work with people of all ages, and at the same time connect with local organizations and youth in need of assistance.”

Susan follows in the footsteps of her grandfather and mother whose combined service to Alfred University numbered more than 50 years. She grew up in Alfred Station, NY and received her Associates Degree in Executive Secretarial Science from Alfred State College. She lives in Alfred surrounded by a large extended family. She has two grown children: a married son who lives in Philadelphia and a married daughter in Alfred who has blessed her with four wonderful grandchildren. When not in the office she enjoys participating in church activities, scoping out deals at estate/garage sales, reading, gardening, and cheering for the AU football team. Go Saxons! She says: " It is great being part of a strong team that offers wonderful services to help students succeed at finding their career paths... and have fun doing it."

Born and raised in Detroit, MI, Peggy moved to Steuben County in 1974. She joined the CDC staff in 1996. Peggy lives in Hornell with her husband of thirty-two years. They have three wonderful children: Dustin, Sarah, and Kalyn. Peggy has also been in the Army Reserves for thirty-two years. She says: "I love my job .All of the students that I meet are on a mission, and I love helping them reach their goals."
