Jill joined the CDC team in July, 2007. She was raised in Alfred and grew up helping in her parents' businesses - the Collegiate (known to many as the Jet) and the Terra Cotta Coffee House. Jill has a Master of Science in Student Personnel Administration from Buffalo State College and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from SUNY Brockport. When not in the office she enjoys spending time with her husband, Bryan and sons, Tyler and Austyn. She says: "I love working at Alfred University: it has such a great community of people. The CDC is a wonderful place to work; I get to tell people that I work in a castle!"

Mariann Walsh

Recruiting Coordinator/Career Counselor

Mariann earned her undergraduate degree in business administration from Alfred University in 2000. She continued her education at Nazareth College in Rochester, earning a Master’s in Education. Joining the CDC staff in 2012 as the Recruiting Coordinator/Career Advisor, Mariann is no stranger to AU as she was the Payroll Associate for the NYS College of Ceramics at Alfred University.  Prior to that time she spent several years as a tenured teacher for a local K-12 program in Business Distributive Education and Computer Education.  Mariann lives in Canaseraga, where she was brought up on a small farm. She is raising her own family near the family farm with her husband, John Walsh. Mariann thoroughly enjoys working at AU, her Alma Mater and says, “AU is home for me, I always come back. I intend to stay at the CDC for many, many years. I loved my time here as an undergrad and can’t wait for my own children to experience the education and memories that I hold dear. Each student that I work with is amazing and talented in their own right. The employers that I work with come to AU and are truly impressed with our students.”

Art Career Advisor and Service-Learning Coordinator

  • Promotes, educates and oversees all service learning programming on campus
  • Mentor for the Gary Horowitz Leadership Development Program capstone projects

Corey grew up in Portland, Maine, and came to study at Alfred University in 1997. She graduated in 2001 with a BA in Fine Arts, and recently completed a second bachelor’s degree in Art History and Theory. Corey is currently enrolled in AU's College Student Development graduate program and lives with her husband Dan, daughter Claire, cat Gus, and dachshund Biscuit in Hornell, New York. She loves learning about art, literature, and languages, and sings with the Alfred University Chorus. Corey and her family enjoy traveling, both locally within the Finger Lakes region and, when possible, abroad. Corey began working at AU on a part-time basis in 2005, and on a full-time basis in 2008. In May 2014, she joined the Career Development Center. “I’m looking forward to working closely with Alfred’s wonderful art and performing arts students! Being inspired by their energy and creativity is the best part of working in higher education.”

Susan Meacham

Office Manager

  • Coordinates the annual First Destinations Graduate Survey
  • Hires, trains, supervises and evaluates work-study students
  • Project Manager for the Saxon Career Volunteer Network and our open houses

Susan joined the CDC in 2005 and follows in the footsteps of her grandfather and mother whose combined service to Alfred University numbered more than 50 years. She grew up in Alfred Station, NY and received her Associates Degree in Executive Secretarial Science from Alfred State College. She lives in Alfred surrounded by a large extended family. She has two grown children: a married son who lives in Philadelphia and a married daughter in Alfred who has blessed her with five wonderful grandchildren. When not in the office she enjoys participating in church activities, scoping out deals at estate/garage sales, reading, gardening, and cheering for the AU football team. Go Saxons! She says: " It is great being part of a strong team that offers wonderful services to help students succeed at finding their career paths... and have fun doing it!"

  • Manages all credential file services and the posting of job opportunities
  • Project Manager for the Career Check-up appointment program

Born and raised in Detroit, MI, Peggy moved to Steuben County in 1974. She joined the CDC staff in 1996. Peggy lives in Hornell and has three wonderful children: Dustin, Sarah, and Kalyn. All graduates of Alfred University. Peggy has also been in the Army Reserves for over thirty years. She says: "I love my job. All of the students that I meet are on a mission, and I love helping them reach their goals."
