Anyone with an outstanding high school record and a broad range of interests may apply. To gauge how you stack up with students in the program, here are some helpful statistics:
- There are about 120 students in Alfred’s Honors Program.
- There are generally 40-55 applicants per year and about two-thirds are accepted.
- 15-20% of the Honors students are National Merit Scholars.
- The majority of Honors students were in the top 5% of their high school class; nearly all were in the top 10%.
- The middle 50% of Honors freshmen have combined SAT
scores
between 1270 and 1410. - Many applicants have taken AP or college-level courses.
