Responsibilities
and Duties:
A Postdoctoral position in the area of photocatalysis and electrical behavior of functional oxides is available starting spring 2013. The program centers on new photochemical and electrical functionalities in oxide nanosheets and 3-D assemblies of nanosheets. The research group also includes work on solid oxide fuel cells and oxide thermoelectrics, with a focus on structure-property relations in-situ. Extensive physical characterization will be required as well as electrochemical and photoreaction measurements. Collaborative work on quantum mechanical modeling will also be required.
   
Requirements: Qualified applicants will have experience in: synthesis and handling of oxides and/or graphene; electrical and/or electrochemical properties measurements, especially of graphene or thin films; optical behavior and/or photoactivity testing including water splitting; or closely related areas of research.

We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with an outstanding academic background and publication record. The candidate should have a Ph.D. in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, or related disciplines. An ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, is essential. Experience in education and mentoring is desirable.
