Position Title: Visiting Assistant Professor
Location: Criminal Justice
 
Responsibilities: The Division of Social Sciences announces the availability of a Visiting Assistant Professor position for a sociologist with expertise in criminal justice studies. The position is for two years and will begin fall 2014. Duties include teaching Introduction to Sociology, Crime and Society, Sociology of Deviance, Concepts of Penology, and Seminar in Criminal Behavior. The teaching load is 12 hours per semester (typically three courses of 4 credit hours each). Supervision of fieldwork projects is also expected. Position does not include advising and committee responsibilities. Opportunities exist for teaching in one or several of the following areas: rural justice; terrorism and security issues; gender, ethnic, and racial issues in criminal justice; and juvenile justice.
   
Requirements: Ph.D. required.
