Sue Goetschius has been director of Communications for Alfred University since August 1998. She joined AU in 1990, and served the University in a variety of positions before taking her current post.
A former newspaper reporter and columnist, Sue has also been involved in local politics, serving as mayor of Wellsville, a nearby village, for 12 years. She is a graduate of Cornell University.
She and her husband George live in Wellsville and are the parents of three grown children, two of whom are AU alumni. Andrea Goetschius earned a BFA in 2001, and Kathryn received a BS in Glass Science Engineering in 2006.

Debbie Clark returned to Alfred University in June 2005 as editor of alumni publications. She had originally worked in the AU Public Relations Office in the late 1980s before moving to Alfred State College as director of public relations. She is delighted to be back on the AU campus.
She says interviewing alumni, faculty, and staff for Alfred Magazine articles and working with Class Correspondents on their Class Notes reports is very rewarding. But, she says, some of the best rewards are meeting alumni in person when they come to campus for events or Reunion activities.
In addition to her alumni work, Debbie writes press releases about faculty, staff, and student accomplishments and activities for the local and regional media. She also supervises Office of Communications writing interns, a task which keeps her connected to the students who will eventually join the alumni ranks.
She is a member of the Allegany County Development Advisory Board and is a distribution volunteer for Angel Foods in Wellsville. She is also a mediocre BUNCO player and Pilates exerciser!
Debbie earned a bachelor of arts degree in journalism from St. Bonaventure University. She and her husband, Larry, who earned his master’s degree at AU, live in Wellsville, with their son, Bryan, an aspiring high school sportscaster.
