Saxons trio earns All-American recognition

Three members of the Alfred University football team have earned national recognition from, a leading website covering collegiate football.

Stevenson ’11 art on display in Gaithersburg exhibition

Art by Michael B. Stevenson Jr., AU Class of 2011, is included in a mixed-media art exhibit being sponsored by the City of Gaithersburg, MD, through Monday, Jan. 19, 2015. The show, featuring pieces by five artists, is at the Activity Center at Bohrer Park, 506 S. Frederick Ave., Gaithersburg.

Hillman earns top ECAC indoor track honors

Miasia Hillman (Buffalo, NY/Hutch Tech), a senior on the Alfred University women's indoor track and field team, has earned weekly honors from the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC).

Nunez tapped for ECAC honors

Jeffrey Nunez (Wurtsboro, NY/Ellenville), a sophomore on the Alfred University men's indoor track and field team, has been honored by the Easter College Athletic Conference (ECAC).

Astronomy magazine features scientist Rivera-Valentin ’08 on its front cover

Edgard G. Rivera-Valentin, staff scientist, Arecibo Observatory, National Astronomy and Ionosphere Center, Department of Planetary Studies, Arecibo, Puerto Rico, is featured on the cover of the Arecibo Es magazine. Edgard was a physics/astronomy major.

Boucher ’92, Sports Hall of Famer, pens ‘Reinventing Yourself’ autobiography

Norma “Annie” L. Boucher, a member of the AU Class of 1992, has just released a personal account – “Reinventing Yourself After 40: Norma’s Victorious Journey” – which chronicles how Jamaican-born Norma progressed from being a young, single mother with no high school diploma to a top-ranked tennis player (a sport she took up at age 38) with a college degree, all in middle age.
