Alumni to discuss paths they took to business success

Two Alfred University (AU) alumni, Mark Mertel and Russ Cesari, will be presenting “What Worked for Us – Our Ten Principles of Business Success” on Thursday, Oct. 11 from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in Holmes Auditorium, located in AU’s Harder Hall. All are welcome.

Alfred University to dedicate high-temperature laboratory

State Senator Catharine Young will join Alfred University President Charles M. Edmondson and Doreen Edwards, dean of the Kazuo Inamori School of Engineering, to dedicate the Center for High-Temperature Characterization at Alfred University at 1:15 p.m. Friday. 

Party in Pink Zumbathon to benefit breast cancer awareness

Alfred University (AU) will host a “Party in Pink” Zumbathon® from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, at McLane Center Physical Education Center on the AU campus. The Zumbathon® is part of the Passionately Pink for the Cure events sponsored by AU, and all proceeds benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer Awareness.

Current exhibit at AU’s Schein-Joseph Museum gives one ‘PAUSE’

The Schein-Joseph International Museum of Ceramic Art in Alfred University’s (AU) College of Ceramics is hosting a new exhibition titled “PAUSE” through Dec. 7, 2012.

Bergren Forum to focus on implications of learning styles

Beth Johnson, assistant professor of psychology at Alfred University, will present “The Social Psychology of Learning Styles and Its Implications for Pedagogy” as part of Alfred University’s ongoing Bergren Forum series.

Johnson will host the lecture on Thursday, Oct. 11. The discussion will begin at 12:10 p.m. and will take place in the Nevins Theater, located in Alfred University’s Powell Campus Center. All are welcome.

Alumnus receives ARTS Partnership Award

The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes has honored Chris Longwell ’91 with the 2012 ARTS Partnership Award.
