'Eva Hesse' Screening Feb. 8
The independent documentary Eva Hesse will be screened Wednesday, Feb. 8, in Holmes Auditorium, Harder Hall at 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
The 2016 film, directed by Marcie Begleiter, includes new interviews, high quality footage of Hesse’s artwork, and a wealth of newly discovered archival imagery. The film not only traces Hesse’s artistic trajectory, it engages in a lively investigation of the creative communities of New York and Germany in the 1960’s.
Screening of the film at Alfred University is made possible thanks to the generous support of the following: Art History Division, Foundations Division, Sculpture & Dimensional Studies, the Interdisciplinary Art Program, the Center for Student Involvement, Alfred University Women & Gender Studies, the Bernstein Funds, the Art History Club, and the Digital Media and Animation Department of Alfred State College.
