Campus Blood Drive Helps Supply National Need
Alfred University students donated a near-record amount of blood during an American Red Cross blood drive on Jan. 26.
According to Red Cross representative Holly Fey, the campus blood drive helped close a gap in a national blood shortage. Fey specifically thanked the Alfred University Rugby Team; the Alfred University SMILE organization; Alfred University student Michelle Hand, who is working to organize a Red Cross club on campus; the Psi Delta Omega fraternity of Alfred State College, and Kathy Woughter, vice president of Student Affairs, who scheduled the blood drive and helped recruit supporting organizations.
Alfred University Rugby Team member Al Farrell added his own thanks to ASC’s Psi Delta Omega fraternity, whose members helped break down tables, put away chairs and load material when the blood drive concluded.
