Madeleine Lomax-Vogt, winner of Wit & Wisdom competition, to deliver Bergren Forum

Alfred University senior Madeleine Lomax-Vogt, the winner of the 2017 Wit & Wisdom student competition, will present her winning essay, “Glacial Relations: Thawing the Relationship Between Science and Tradition,” at the April 6 Bergren Forum. The event is free and open to the public.

Lomax-Vogt, a resident of Ada, Ohio, is a Chemistry major at Alfred University and serves also as general manager of Alfred University’s WALF Radio. She will receive a $250 award for her essay, in addition to the honor of presenting it at the Bergren Forum.

Phi Beta Kappa of Alfred University, which sponsors the Wit & Wisdom competition, also has announced two finalists in the competition: senior Jonathan Makely, a History major, of Angelica, N.Y. and junior Madison Muehl, a Biology major, of Millport, N.Y.

The Bergren Forum will be held at 12:10 p.m. in Nevins Theater.
