Alfred University alumna Gina Zetts wins Saxe Emerging Artists grant
Alfred University alumna Gina Zetts ’08 is the recipient of a 2017 Saxe Emerging Artists grant.
Zetts holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in sculpture from Alfred University and received her Master of Fine Arts degree in glass from the Rochester Institute of Technology. She was a recipient of Alfred University’s Purchase Award and winner of the Bronze Award in the Bullseye Glass Co. Emerge 2014 International competition. Her work has been featured in two editions of New Glass Review and American Art Collector Magazine. She has worked as an instructor at RIT and Bullseye Glass Co. and presently is the administrative coordinator for the Oakland Museum of California.
She and her husband live in El Sobrante, Calif.
The Saxe Award is administered by the Glass Art Society on behalf of Dorothy and the late George Saxe, who during the course of their marriage assembled one of the premier contemporary glass collections in the United States. They are credited with playing a significant role in elevating glass art and expanding its appreciation.
Zetts will be one of three 2017 Saxe Emerging Artists who will deliver lectures on June 3 at the Norfolk Marriott Waterside Hotel Hampton Ballroom in Norfolk, Va.. The event is expected to attract a large audience of artists, academics, educators, collectors, critics and peers.
