Stunning display of talent in Senior Art Shows
One word: Stunning! What a display of talent in our Senior Shows!
Alfred University’s School of Art and Design hosted 83 Senior BFA Shows on Saturday, May 6, in three buildings on the University campus — Harder Hall, Binns-Merill and the McGee Pavilion, which houses the Turner Gallery — and The Cohen Gallery on Main Street in the Village of Alfred. Seniors in the Interdisciplinary Art major in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences also opened their shows this past weekend. It is truly an impressive series of events and perfect way to showcase the talents of our students.
Students will receive their degrees along the rest of the University’s Class of 2017 on Saturday. Following the spring commencement ceremony, The School of Art and Design will host a reception for graduates, friends, and family members in Harder Hall, at which time the Senior Art Show Award will be announced; it includes a cash award that accompanies the honor.
Alfred University’s BFA graduates also qualify to apply for a Residency Fellowship at Cité Internationale des Arts, in Paris. That award will be announced along with the Senior Art Show Award at the reception in Harder Hall.
