Alfred University offering wide range of academic, sports programs this summer
Alfred University comes alive over the summer with a range of educational programs tailored for students in a broad age range and pursuing a myriad of interests.
Here are just a few of the programs scheduled so far, as Summer Term I courses end shortly (June 23) and Summer Term II begins on June 26, extending through Aug. 4. The University’s Downstate students will be on campus on June 18 through July 28 (each week a new group will arrive throughout this time period). Summer Ceramic Workshops are scheduled from June 18 through July 22 (two, three and 4 week programs). And AU’s High School Institutes begin on June 25 and will run weekly through July 28.
Some of the offerings include: Art Portfolio Preparation, Astronomy, Ceramic & Glass Engineering, Computer, Creative Writing, Robotics and Theatre. The University will also host three residential sports camps: English and Western Equestrian and Swim.
Scattered throughout these same weeks the University will offer several academic and sports day camps/clinics for campers of all ages (6-17): Art I and II, Basketball, Engineering I and II, Equestrian (one for beginners and one for intermediate), Lacrosse and Tennis.
