Alfred in the News: Peer Bode featured in '10Magazine'
Alfred University Professor of Video Arts Peer Bode, co-director/founder of Alfred University’s Institute for Electronic Arts, was recently featured in an interview in 10Magazine. The interview and article can be seen at:
Bode received a B.A. degree in Cinema from the State University of New York at Binghamton, and a M.A.H. in Video from the Center for Media Studies at the State University of New York at Buffalo.
His electronic arts classes provide students an opportunity to experiment with contemporary electronic systems that extend traditional video into new electronic media, including digital video, electronic cinema, digital audio, multimedia and on-line global image and sound transfer.
His work has been exhibited at “Monitor 94, International Video and Audio Festival,” Gothenburg Art Museum, Valand Art Academy, Sweden; “The II Biennial International Film Festival” in Medalin, Colombia; “The 1987 Biennial Exhibition” at the Whitney Museum in New York; “Project: Video XXVIII” at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
His work is included in Iteration: the New Image, a book/catalog published by the International Center for Photography in New York, and a catalog entry for the European Media Art Festival 1993 in Osnabruck, Germany. “Early Digital,” an interview with him by Cheryl Jackson was published in the catalog of the European Media Art Festival 1994.
