Alumnus, engineer to give campus program on storm water management 9/11/08
Andy Hoak, a hydrogeologist and environmental engineer at Ruggiano Engineering, Inc., St. Albans, VT, will host the next Environmental Studies Seminar at Alfred University on Friday, Sept. 19, 2008.
His talk will be based on “Incorporating Innovative Storm Water Management in an Impervious World.” The event will be held at 12:20 p.m. in Roon Lecture Hall, the Science Center. The seminar is open to the public, free of charge. Hoak is a 1993 graduate of Alfred University with a degree in geology and environmental studies, and a graduate of Clemson University, where he received an M.S. in hydrogeology in 1995. He is also a licensed professional geologist in New Hampshire and a professional engineer in Vermont, and currently oversees the design and construction of water supply systems, wastewater treatment facilities and storm water management controls. The Division of Environmental Studies at Alfred University sponsors the popular seminar series each Friday during the fall semester, except Nov. 28, the Friday after Thanksgiving. |
