AU indoor track and field teams compete at St. Lawrence 1/26/09
Junior Megan Crimmins (Big Flats, NY/Horseheads) led the AU women with a second-place finish in the 1,000-meter run (3:15.55) and a sixth-place finish in the mile run (5:33.45). Other Lady Saxons earning top-10 finishes were freshman Sarah Foster (Adelaide, Australia/Sparta, NJ), fourth in the high jump (1.43 meters); sophomore Melissa Haahr (Tioga, NY/Owego), eighth in the the 500-meter run (1:29.92); and junior McKenzie Clemens (Lowville, NY/Lowville), ninth in the 3,000-meter run (11:59.00). Sophomore Shawn Ross (Ticonderoga, NY/Ticonderoga) was second in the shot put, with an ECAC-qualifying heave of 14.62 meters, to lead the AU men. Junior Lee Consolo (Pleasantville, NY/Pleasantville) was fourth in the 500-meter run (1:10.00) and senior Erik Jezek (Orchard Park, NY/Hamburg) was 10th in the 200-meter run (23.89 seconds). Alfred is in action next on Sunday, Feb. 1, at the Empire 8 Conference championship meet, hosted by RIT. |
