AU women’s ski team places second, men’s team fourth, at Bristol Mountain

SOUTH BRISTOL, NY — The Alfred University women’s Alpine ski team placed second and the AU men’s team took fourth at Bristol Mountain over the weekend.

In races hosted by the University of Rochester, the Alfred women took second in the giant slalom Saturday and the slalom on Sunday to finish second over behind Syracuse. It marks the first time in three meets this year the Alfred women’s team did not finish first overall.

It marks the first time Pfeifer has not claimed top individual honors this season. Junior Ulana Bihun (Jericho, VT/Mt. Mansfield) was 16th and 17th, respectively, in the GS and slalom.

The AU men took third in the GS and fourth in the slalom to finish fourth overall for the weekend, the team’s best performance in three events this year.

Senior Joel Buchanan (Almond, NY/Scio) was the AU men’s team’s top skier, taking 10th in the slalom and 15th in the giant slalom.
