AU indoor track and field teams compete at Susquehanna

SELINSGROVE, PA -- The Alfred University men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed Saturday at the Susquehanna University Invitational. There were no team scores.

Sophomore Shawn Ross (Ticonderoga, NY/Toconderoga) and senior Erik Jezek (Orchard Park, NY/Hamburg) each led the AU men with fifth-place finishes: Ross in the shot put (14.57 meters) and Jezek in the 55-meter hurdles (8.48 seconds). Junior Lee Consolo (Pleasantville, NY/Pleasantville) was 14th in the 800-meter run (2:03.75) and freshman Evan Roush (Newport, PA/Newport) was 15th in the triple jump (11.93 meters).

Junior Megan Crimmins (Big Flats, NY/Horseheads) was 24th in the mile run (5:43.42) to lead the AU women. Sophomore Jen Chan (Angelica, NY/Genesee Valley) was 27th in the 400-meter dash (1:09.58) and sophomore Melissa Haahr (Tioga, NY/Owego) was 30th in the 800-meter run (2:38.46).

The AU men and women are in action next on Saturday, Feb. 14, at the Kane Invitational in Ithaca, NY, hosted by Cornell University.
