Lady Saxons handle Nazareth as Jackson goes over 1,000-point mark
The Lady Saxons (11-10, 5-7 Empire 8) committed only 10 turnovers while forcing Nazareth into 27 miscues, which helped AU overcome a 42-33 rebounding disadvantage. Alfred outshot the visitors, 40-percent to 22-percent, and connected on 77 percent of its free throws. With the win, AU splits the season series with Nazareth moves into a tie with the Golden Flyers for fifth place in the Empire 8.

Junior guard Lisa Button (Troupsburg, NY/Jasper-Troupsburg) netted eight points, three rebounds and two steals and junior forward Libby Meier (Rochester, NY/Greece Odyssey) led the team with nine rebounds.
Jackson, who also had six steals, now has 1,001 career points. The AU career leader in steals, Jackson went over the 500-rebound mark for her career earlier this year and is now one of only four players in team history to eclipse 1,000 points and 500 rebounds in a career.
