Chorus and Chamber Singers to present spring concert in Alfred's Seventh Day Baptist Church
On Saturday, April 18, the Alfred University Chorus and Chamber Singers will present their final concert of the year at 8 p.m. in the Alfred Seventh Day Baptist Church. The program is open to the public free of charge.
This concert will feature choral music ranging from the Renaissance to the present day. The chorus will perform two spirituals, “Ain’t got time to die” and “Hold On,” as well as Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody,” works from Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, and a Hebrew folk song.
The Chamber singers will sing the Elizabethan madrigal “Draw on Sweet Night” as well as “Omnia Sol” by Randall Stroope.
Both groups will perform their own take on “Hallelujah” from Handel’s “Messiah”.
The groups are under the direction of Dr. Luanne Crosby, professor of voice and chorus.
