ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University women’s tennis team has been honored by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) for its work in the classroom during the 2008-09 academic year.

The ITA included the AU women’s squad on its list of All-Academic Teams, Division III classification. To earn the All-Academic honor, a team must have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.20.

In addition, four players from the Alfred women’s team were named ITA scholar-athletes. Players named scholar-athletes must have a minimum grade-point average of 3.50 for the academic year.

Scholar-athletes for the AU women’s team were freshman Hannah Barley (Oneida, NY/Oneida), sophomores Kate Cohen (Bradford, PA/Bradford) and Autumn McLain (Oneida, NY/Oneida), and Holly Seidewand (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas).
