Bergren Forum will look back at patriotism during WWII

Martha Mueller of Alfred, retired librarian from Scholes Library at Alfred University, will present “World War II on the Home Front: One Grade School Girl’s Experiences” on Thursday, Sept. 24, at the University’s Bergren Forum. The program begins at 12:10 p.m. in Powell Campus Center’s Nevins Theater. This event is free of charge and open to the public.

Mueller will talk about her encounters with patriotism in Joplin, MO, when both a war and the world bore little resemblance to those of the present day.

The Bergren Forum, sponsored by the Alfred University Division of Human Studies, meets Thursdays during each academic semester at the University. Participants are encouraged to bring a lunch; coffee and tea will be available.
