ELMIRA, NY —The Alfred University men’s soccer team lost to host Elmira, 3-1, in an Empire 8 Conference contest Saturday afternoon.

Erik Lee scored the first goal for Elmira 18:12 into the game. Brooks Saunders and Brian Haschke each scored a goal for Elmira in the second half and teammates Edward Michelson and Alexander Poole each earned an assist in the game.

Freshman forward Frankie Mannino (Elmira, NY/Elmira Free Academy) netted the Saxons’ lone goal in the game 12:00 into the second half.
Elmira (7-4-1) outshot Alfred 25-9. Sophomore goalie Elliot Thorpe (Highlands Ranch, CO/ Thunder Ridge) made 13 saves in goal for Alfred. Jared Micheller made four saves in goal for Elmira.

Alfred (5-5-1, 0-3-1 E8) is in action next on Saturday, Oct. 17, at 1 p.m. vs. visiting RIT.
