AU alumnus named juror for California Clay Competition

Stan Welsh, a 1978 graduate of Alfred University, has been appointed as juror for the 2010 California Clay Competition. Welsh graduated from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University with Master of Fine Arts degree.

Welsh is currently the professor of Spatial/Ceramics at San Jose State University in San Jose, CA. His work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group shows and can be viewed at stanwelsh.com

The California Clay Competition has been sponsored by the Artery, home of Artists’ Cooperative of Davis, CA since 1990 to give California ceramic artists an opportunity to display their work during the California Conference for Advancement of Ceramic Art. The competition will take place from Nov. 2nd through Dec. 23.
