Comedian J. Chris Newberg to perform at AU’s Knight Club
On Saturday, Dec. 5, Alfred University will host up-and-coming comedian J. Chris Newberg, who has earned national attention for his stand-up acts, hilarious Internet viral videos, and television appearances.
Admission is free to the event which begins at 10 p.m. in the Knight Club at Powell Center on campus.
Audiences all over the country have been raving over Newberg’s stand-up routine that combines his funny and somewhat offbeat observations on life with original, acoustic guitar songs and infectious melodies. His smart and edgy humor combined with a streetwise view of the world has pushed Newberg to the forefront of the national comedy scene. Already praised by critics, Newberg now aims to please audiences and to add to his following of loyal fans.
Newberg acquired a good number of his fans from his adventures of traveling and touring the country with bands like the Counting Crows, Oasis, and John Mellencamp, but many fans have been attracted to his viral Internet videos that have received over 7 million views.
Newberg has also been fortunate enough to take his act to television, appearing on shows such as “Jimmy Kimmel Live, ” “Comedy Central,” “Last Comic Standing, “ and on The History Channel, Fox Sports, and numerous commercials and voice-over spots.
