ALFRED, NY – Alfred University juniors Nick Schneider (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) and Connor Houghton (Orleans, MA/Nauset Regional) have earned all-conference recognition from the Empire 8.

Schenider and Houghton were named Second Team conference all-stars in doubles. The pair went 8-4 as first doubles, posting a 6-2 mark in Empire 8 matches. The Saxons finished the season with a 6-8 record (2-6 Empire 8).

Each season, the Empire 8 Conference honors students-athletes from each conference school, who play on teams sponsored by the conference, with Sportsperson of the Year awards. Honorees, chosen by their coaches, exhibited outstanding sportsmanship in keeping with the conference’s mission of “competing with honor and integrity.” Alfred’s men’s tennis honoree is sophomore Kyle McDevitt (Underhill, VT/Mt. Mansfield Union).
