PITTSFORD, NY — The Alfred University women’s soccer team lost Wednesday afternoon, 4-0 at Nazareth College.

Alfred senior goalie Shanna Ewoldt (Tuscon, AZ/Waubansie Valley) made 18 saves, as Nazareth outshot AU 43-5. The host Golden Flyers scored two goals in each period, with Erica Conte netting what proved to the game-winner 16:17 into the contest.

Chelsea Rinere, Olivia Derleth and Katie Wyant (one assist) also scored for Nazareth (3-2-0, 1-0-0 Empire 8). Hillary Simon earned the shutout in goal.

Alfred (2-1-1, 0-1-0 Empire 8) is in action next on Saturday, Sept. 18, at 4 p.m. at Daeman.
