ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University football team climbed two spots and is ranked 23rd in this week’s D3football.com national poll for Division III teams.

Alfred (2-0) was ranked 25th in last week’s poll and moved up after Saturday’s 24-16 victory at St. Lawrence. AU is the only team from New York State ranked in the top 25.

AU is back in action this Saturday, Sept. 25, at 2 p.m. for the Saxons’ 2010 Empire 8 Conference opener, at Springfield College.
