AURORA, NY —The Alfred University men’s soccer team tied host Wells College, 0-0, in double overtime Tuesday afternoon.

AU (4-2-2 0-0-0 Empire 8) outshot Wells 21-12, and held an 8-2 advantage in shots on goal. Junior goalie Elliot Thorpe (Highlands Ranch, CO/Thunder Ridge) made four saves in net for Alfred, while C.J. Bayly had eight saves in goal for Wells (3-4-1).

Alfred is in action next on Saturday, Sept. 25, at 1 p.m., when the Saxons play their Empire 8 opener at Utica College.
